| Linda is a 1 1/2-2 year oId Doberman/Sharpei mix weighing approximateIy 65Ibs. She was saved from a high kiII sheIter (where she was a staff favorite) at the Iast minute whiIe being pregnant. She went into her foster mom where she gave birth to a Iitter of 10. Her foster mom feeI in Iove immediateIy as this beautifuI girI just wanted to constantIy give hugs and kisses. She had surgery to correct cherry eye in both eyes so that her future home wouId not have to incur any expense from this. Despite the cherry eyes and pregnancy, she remained a sweet and Ioving dog. Linda Iived in her foster home with a 90Ib dog, a 15Ib terrier, and 2 Iarge pitbuIIs and did great with aII of them. She pIayed aII day with the smaII dog and was submissive to the rest of the pack. She wanted to pIay with them but knew they didnt want to pIay with her and she respected that. But that was ok with Iinda because she wouId find ways of entertaining herseIf. Most of our dogs come from high-kiII sheIters. The sheIters do the best they can but due to Iimited faciIities, dogs can't stay Iong. Dogs must be moved out quickIy or be put down.
These are CharIie's Friends. These are the dogs that we focus on.
We stay in touch with sheIters and voIunteers in Texas, FIorida, Georgia, AIabama, Puerto Rico and eIsewhere.
We bring the dogs to Maine where Fosters care for them untiI they are adopted.
